Old Neighborhoods, Old Pipes
Boise's most loved neighborhoods are also its oldest, and the sewer laterals under them show it. Homes in the North End, East End and along the Bench were often connected with clay tile pipe, laid in short sections whose joints have spent decades inviting roots in. Later eras used Orangeburg — a bituminous fiber pipe that softens, blisters and gradually flattens under the weight of the soil above it. Neither material was ever meant to last as long as it's been asked to.
The result is a pattern we see constantly around Boise: a line that backs up every few months, gets snaked, works for a while and backs up again. Snaking clears the symptom. The pipe itself — cracked, bellied, root-bound or collapsing — is the problem, and that's the part we fix.

How We Work / 02
Diagnose First, Dig Once
Boise ground complicates sewer work in ways that reward experience. Near the river and through the older flats, trenches open into rounded cobble that shifts and caves; mature street trees in the North End mean root systems that have grown around — and into — the very pipe being replaced; and on Bench streets the lateral may run deep on its way down to the main. We plan for all of it before the first bucket of dirt moves.
Every job starts with a clear diagnosis so you're never paying to excavate the wrong section of yard. From there we open the trench, remove the failed pipe, and install new line at proper grade on clean bedding — then backfill and compact in lifts so your lawn, driveway or sidewalk doesn't sink over the trench a winter later. Freeze-thaw cycles here are hard on shortcuts; we don't take them.
