Septic in Star / 01
Septic Country, Even as the Town Grows
Star may be one of the fastest-growing communities in Idaho, but a large share of it still runs on septic. The acreage properties, hobby farms and established homes spread along the Boise River and out from the Highway 44 corridor were built long before city sewer reached their side of the road, and many sit on private wells and septic systems to this day. New subdivisions may tie into municipal service, but for everyone else, the septic system is the wastewater plant, and it needs to be designed, built and maintained like one.
Shamrock Construction & Excavation installs, repairs and replaces septic systems throughout Star, on both the Ada County and Canyon County sides of town. With more than 30 years of excavation experience in the Treasure Valley, we know what this ground does when you dig into it, and we build systems that hold up.

New Septic Systems for Star Homesites
Plenty of new homes in Star still go up outside sewer service, on parcels split from farm ground or tucked along the river where mains do not reach. Siting a system on that kind of land takes judgment. Riverside lowlands can carry seasonally high groundwater, and soils that spent decades under flood irrigation do not always drain the way a soil map suggests. We plan tank and drain field placement around the conditions actually in the ground, coordinate the required approvals and inspections with the local health district, and leave the site graded clean.

- Tank and drain field replacement for aging systems

When an Older Star System Starts to Fail
Many septic systems around Star have been working quietly for decades, and age eventually shows. Slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors in the yard, soggy green stripes over the drain field or backups after heavy use are all signs the system is struggling. On low-lying properties near the river, a wet spring can push a marginal drain field over the edge. We diagnose what is actually wrong before recommending anything, because a failed line to the tank is a very different repair than a saturated drain field.
When repair makes sense, we fix the failing component. When the system is truly at the end of its life, we replace it, and if a sewer main has reached your neighborhood, we can talk through whether a conversion is the smarter long-term move. Either way you get a straight answer and a free estimate first, and 24 hour emergency service when sewage is backing up and it cannot wait.

A Septic Crew That Knows Star’s Ground
High Groundwater Experience
Star’s riverside lowlands and irrigation legacy make groundwater a real design factor. We site and build systems with wet-season conditions in mind, not just the dry-August dig.
Two Counties, No Confusion
Star spans the Ada and Canyon county line, and we work with the health districts on both sides regularly, so your project follows the right process from day one.
Excavation Under the Same Roof
Septic work is excavation work. The same crew that digs your system can handle the grading, driveway repair and site cleanup, so the job finishes in one pass.
